Student Affairs

The programs and services provided by the Division of Student Affairs play an integral role in ensuring that every Georgetown student thrives. Animated by the Jesuit value of cura personalis—care of the whole person—we offer resources to promote students’ health and wellbeing; assist with their career development; and meet a variety of personal, spiritual, intellectual, and academic needs.

Learning takes place in all parts of our students’ lives and is enriched by their living environments and their engagement in a wide range of co-curricular pursuits—from community service to athletics, student government to the performing arts. Philanthropic gifts advance our work to build a campus community that supports every student.

A Testimonial

durriya meer

“Education and awareness about mental health and resources on campus are critical. I think that awareness has to come from the top down and from the bottom up. I see a lot of value in educating different parts of the university and collaborating not just with students and faculty but with teaching assistants, graduate assistants, tutors, staff at all levels.”

–Durriya Meer, Ph.D., Georgetown University’s director of Counseling and Psychiatric Service (CAPS)
Caring for students’ mental wellbeing is critical, especally as they face the emotional challenges of young adulthood and the modern college experience. Georgetown’s CAPS and Health Education Services are foundational to advancing our culture of care.
