Georgetown University Medical Center

Grounded in the university’s Catholic and Jesuit tradition, Georgetown University Medical Center (GUMC) educates and develops generations of researchers, clinicians, and health professionals, equipping them to deploy their expertise in service to the common good.

Today, we are called to understand the unique contexts—both scientific and social—that shape the health of people and communities. To pursue critical medical breakthroughs. To care for individuals and communities across our city and around the globe in the spirit of cura personalis, or “care of the whole person.” To foster strong external partnerships, including an ever-deepening engagement with our health system partner MedStar Health. We are called to become one of the nation’s greatest academic medical centers.

Philanthropy will ensure that we can advance our mission to improve the health of communities and promote human dignity, amplifying our impact in fields such as global health; cancer research and treatment; brain function restoration and recovery; and population health, with a focus on health equity.
