a landmark building steps from the capitol

The new academic building at 125 E Street NW anchors Georgetown University’s growing Capitol Campus. In addition to unifying the McCourt School of Public Policy in one building a short walk from the U.S. Capitol, it is an exceptional space for the entire university—for hosting major convenings, enhancing learning and collaboration, and providing a dynamic door to our university community.

125 E isn’t just about having more space; it’s about having the right space. At more than 150,000 square feet, the building shares a city block with the Law Center and connect to Georgetown’s 500 First Street property. Amplifying Georgetown’s presence in the heart of our nation’s capital, the building includes an iconic auditorium, sweeping Capitol views, an indoor-outdoor rooftop event space, a multipart installation by acclaimed artist Maya Lin, classrooms, offices, and more.

On September 12, 2024, the McCourt School of Public Policy inaugurated its new home on Capitol Hill, 125 E Street. This interdisciplinary space is a landmark investment that provides another door to Georgetown University in the community.
